What Tommy Miah says!
My Vision for the Great British Curry Festival (GBCF) transcends borders. GBCF has graced cities like London, Lisbon, Baku, and my beloved Bangladesh. Additionally, discussions are underway with representatives from ten more countries to finalize hosting dates for 2024/25. At its core, the GBCF is more than just a celebration of curry; it's a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration.
Here's what the festival aims to offer:
● A flavorful journey through curry's rich history, spanning from 1970 to the present day.
● Showcasing restaurants across the Globe, featuring iconic dishes from 1970 to 2024 on their menus.
● Promoting curry restaurants across the world, fostering a sense of community and appreciation for diverse cuisines.
● A harmonious fusion of curry and culture, with special emphasis on the vibrant history of Pop music.
● Facilitating networking opportunities between participating countries, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration.
● Championing British products and supporting organizations dedicated to promoting British companies on a global scale.
● Harnessing the power of gastronomy to promote tourism, inviting visitors to embark on a culinary odyssey and explore the diverse cultural tapestry woven by curry aficionados worldwide. For the past two years, I have poured my heart and soul into bringing the Great British Curry Festival to life, and the overwhelming response from British Ambassadors, corporate partners, and the public fills me with immense pride and gratitude.
Warm regards, Tommy Miah,MBE.
