Elevating British Products Globally
Chef Tommy Miah's passion for the Great British Curry Festival & British Products shines through his recipes, served to royalty and celebrated internationally. Join us on the GBCF global tour! Great British Curry Festival
I come from humble beginnings, born in Bangladesh, I embarked on a culinary journey that began from the kitchen porter's station, gradually ascending to the role of a chef. In 1977, I proudly opened my first Indian Takeaway in Birmingham, marking the inception of a lifelong pursuit in the culinary world, which later expanded to include numerous successful ventures both in the UK and internationally.
My vision for the Great British Curry Festival (GBCF) transcends borders. I am thankful to British Ambassadors for their endorsement worldwide, soliciting their support, and their enthusiastic response has been instrumental in expanding the festival's reach. GBCF has already graced cities like London, Lisbon, Azerbaijan, and my beloved Bangladesh. Additionally, discussions are underway with representatives from ten more countries to finalize hosting dates for 2024/25. At its core, the GBCF is more than just a celebration of curry; it's a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration. Here's what the festival aims to offer:
● A flavorful journey through curry's rich history, spanning from 1970 to the present day.
● Facilitating networking opportunities between participating countries, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration.
● Championing British products and supporting organizations dedicated to promoting British companies on a global scale.
● Harnessing the power of gastronomy to promote tourism, inviting visitors to embark on a culinary odyssey...
Warm regards,
Tommy Miah, MBE.
